How to edit a video with AI chat

Change a MarketMee video by asking for it in plain English, fix words and colours for free in the content editor, go back to any earlier version, and re-render the MP4.

The first version of a video is rarely the one you post. Maybe the intro drags, a feature name is wrong, or the colours are a shade off. MarketMee gives you two ways to fix things: a free content editor for words and colours, and an AI Chat for anything bigger. Every change is saved in Version History, so you can experiment without worrying about losing a version you liked.

This guide assumes you already have a generated video. If not, start with how to create a video in MarketMee.

Choose the right tool

A quick rule of thumb:

  • Wording, narration or colours? Use the content editor. It's free and instant.
  • Timing, layout, motion, tone or anything structural? Ask in the Chat. Each AI edit costs 35 tokens.
  • Want a completely fresh take? Use Regenerate from brief.

Free edits in the content editor

Motion videos have a content editor right under the live preview. (If the video is already rendered, open Edit animation to see it.)

  1. Open your video from Video in the sidebar.
  2. In the content editor, change any on-screen text, the Narration (voiceover) for each beat, or the Colours. Each beat's time jumps the preview to that moment.
  3. Click Save changes, or Discard to throw your edits away.

The preview updates as soon as you save. If you changed the narration, the voiceover is re-recorded on your next render. A gentle hint appears when a line looks long for its beat; the video holds the frame a little longer to fit it.

Classic videos are edited scene by scene instead: each scene card lets you pick a different image, or click Edit with AI to change just that scene.

Edits with AI chat

  1. Find the Chat panel next to the video. On a phone or small screen it opens from a floating button.
  2. Describe what you want in plain English, for example:
    • "Make the intro faster and more upbeat."
    • "Add a final line with our website address."
    • "Use our dark navy as the background throughout."
  3. Send it. AI updates the video and the preview refreshes so you can check the result.

Motion videos are edited as a whole animation. In Classic videos you can aim a change at one scene with its Edit with AI button, or at the whole video from the chat.

Editing pauses while the video is generating or rendering, and picks up again as soon as it's done.

Go back with Version History

Every generation and every edit, by hand or by AI, becomes a version. Open Version History to see them all:

  • Select a version to see what it looked like, including the brief that produced it.
  • Click Restore This Version, then Replace, to make it the current one.

Restoring doesn't delete anything. The version you replaced stays in the list, so you can switch back.

Start over from the brief

If the video is heading in the wrong direction, edit your brief and click Regenerate from brief. MarketMee rebuilds the video from scratch. Chat edits made since the last version are replaced, but you can still restore them from Version History. Regenerating is charged like a new generation, at the price for the length you pick.

Re-render to update the MP4

Edits change the preview, not a video you've already downloaded or posted. When you're happy:

  1. Click Render Video, or Re-render if the video was rendered before.
  2. Wait a minute or three. You can leave the page.
  3. Download the new file with Download MP4, or click Create Post to share it. See how to create and publish a post.

The render button shows its price before you click. The encode itself is free; voiceover (15 tokens per narrated scene or beat) and background music (45 tokens) are charged when the render starts. Turn either off under Audio if you don't need it.

Tips

  • Make small requests. "Shorten the second beat" works better than "fix the middle".
  • Fix typos by hand. It's free, instant and exact.
  • Try bold ideas safely. If an AI edit misses, restore the previous version and try a different request.
  • Render last. Batch your edits, then render once.
