How to create a video in MarketMee
A step-by-step guide to making a narrated product video in MarketMee, from a blank draft to a finished MP4 you can download or post.
A short narrated video is one of the best ways to show off something you shipped, and it's one of the slowest things to make by hand. In MarketMee you write a brief (or let AI draft one from your commits), pick a length, and get back an animated video with voiceover and music that you can tweak, render and post.
This guide walks through making your first video from start to finish. It takes a few minutes of your time, plus a minute or three for the render.
Before you start
- A paid plan. Generating a video uses tokens, and new generations need a plan. Your free onboarding sample is separate and doesn't count.
- GitHub (optional but useful). You can write a brief without linking a repo, but connecting one lets AI draft the brief from real commits and pull in your brand colours. See how to claim your free sample for connecting GitHub.
Step by step
- Open the Video Creator. Click Video in the sidebar, then New video. A new draft called Untitled video opens straight away. (The dashboard's New video button does the same.)
- Pick a Video Mode. Under Video Mode choose Motion (one continuous animation) or Classic (scene-by-scene layouts you can edit one at a time). Motion is the default. Not sure? Read Classic vs Motion videos.
- Write the Video brief. In Video brief, describe what the video should say: the key messages, the features, and any exact on-screen text. Plain sentences are fine.
- Prefer a head start? Click Draft a brief with AI. Pick the repository and branch, choose commits (or leave them empty and AI finds relevant ones), add an Instruction if you want a particular angle, and AI writes the brief for you. A draft costs 15 tokens.
- Choose a Video Format. Pick Horizontal (1920x1080) for YouTube and LinkedIn, Square (1080x1080) for feeds, or Vertical (1080x1920) for Reels, Shorts and Stories.
- Link a repo (optional). Link GitHub Repo (optional) already shows the repository you most likely mean. Change it, or pick No repository if the video isn't about code you've connected.
- Check Company Name and Website URL. These help AI name your product correctly and match your branding.
- Generate it. Click Generate animation (Motion) or Generate video plan (Classic). A window opens where you choose the Video length and see the price before anything is charged. If you tick Render the video as soon as it's generated, MarketMee goes straight on to make the MP4 and you can close the page. Click Generate.
Review and polish
When generation finishes, the video is ready to preview. This is where you make it yours:
- Live preview. Motion videos play right in your browser before you render, so you can watch the timing and wording.
- Free edits. For Motion videos, the content editor under the preview lets you change on-screen text, narration and colours directly. It's free and instant; click Save changes when you're done. In Classic videos you can swap a scene's image from its scene card.
- AI edits. For bigger changes ("make the intro punchier", "add a closing line about pricing"), use the Chat panel. Each AI edit costs 35 tokens.
- Audio. Under Audio, switch AI voiceover, Subtitles and Background music on or off, and choose a Music style. In Motion videos, subtitles are drawn into the video in its own font and colours and highlight each word as it's spoken.
- Version History. Every generation and every edit is saved, so you can go back to an earlier version any time.
For a closer look at editing, read how to edit a video with AI chat.
Render and share
Click Render Video to make the MP4. The button shows what the render costs and how long it usually takes (1–3 minutes). Voiceover and music are charged when the render starts, and you can leave the page while it runs.
When it's finished you'll see the video player with:
- Download MP4 to save the file.
- Create Post, which writes a caption for the video and opens the post composer with both filled in. From there you pick accounts and publish or schedule. See how to create and publish a post.
- Edit with AI to keep refining, then Re-render to update the MP4.
What it costs
| Video length | Tokens to generate |
|---|---|
| 15s | 120 |
| 30s | 200 |
| 45s | 280 |
| 60s | 360 |
| 90s | 520 |
| 2 min | 680 |
On top of that, voiceover is 15 tokens per scene and background music is 45 tokens, both charged at render time. Classic videos may add AI scene images at 15 tokens each. Free edits in the content editor, rendering itself and downloading cost nothing. If a generation fails, its tokens are refunded. For the full picture, see how MarketMee tokens work.
Tips
- Start at 30 seconds. It's long enough to make a point and cheap enough to try twice.
- Put exact wording in the brief. If a headline or product name must appear a certain way, write it out in the brief.
- Fix words for free first. Typos and small wording changes belong in the content editor, not the chat.
- Let it render in the background. Tick Render the video as soon as it's generated when you already trust the brief.
