Most software teams have two separate timelines. One lives in GitHub: a steady stream of commits, merges and shipped features that moves every single day. The other lives on your social accounts: an irregular trickle of posts that only appears when someone remembers to write one. The first timeline never stops. The second one goes quiet for weeks at a time.

The goal is to make those two timelines move together—so that the moment work lands in your repository, it's already on its way to becoming a post. MarketMee is built to connect them. Here's how to set things up so your Git history feeds your marketing automatically, and your feed keeps pace with the code you ship.

Why the two timelines drift apart

It isn't a discipline problem. Writing a post is a genuine context switch: you have to stop building, remember what you changed, translate it out of engineering language, make an image or a video, and then schedule the thing. By the time you've shipped three more commits, the first one feels old and you skip it.

The result is a familiar gap. Your customers don't know what you shipped last month, not because it wasn't worth sharing, but because sharing it was friction. Closing that gap means removing the manual step between "merged" and "posted"—which is exactly what connecting GitHub to MarketMee does.

Step 1: Connect your repositories

Everything starts from your code, so the first move is to connect GitHub:

  1. Go to GitHub in the sidebar.
  2. Click Connect GitHub and authorise your account.
  3. Select the repository you want MarketMee to read.

You can connect multiple GitHub accounts, including organisation repositories, and it works with any branch, not just main. Whenever you make a post from your commits, MarketMee rewrites vague commit messages like "fix stuff" or "wip" into plain-English summaries, with a labelled changelog for each commit (features, fixes, improvements, refactors, docs). That translation layer is the bridge between your repo and your audience—the raw material every post is built from.

Step 2: Let Autopilot watch the repo

Connecting GitHub lets you make posts from your commits whenever you like. To keep it in sync without lifting a finger, you want Autopilot, which watches each repository and turns new commits into posts on a schedule:

  1. Go to Autopilot in the sidebar.
  2. Connect a GitHub account and select a repository.
  3. Configure how that repo should post:
    • Content: Images, Video, or Both.
    • Image style (if Images): pick the image and headline styles you like—Autopilot rotates through them.
    • Check for new commits: choose a cadence—Every hour, Every 6 hours, Every 12 hours, Daily, or Weekly.
    • Instructions (optional): up to 1,000 characters of standing guidance, such as "Focus on the new billing dashboard and write for agency owners."
    • Post to: the social accounts you want to publish to.
  4. Toggle Autopilot on.

From then on, each run picks up everything shipped since the last run, generates the content, and drops posts into your queue in the next open slot. This is what turns a one-off announcement habit into continuous marketing: the repo keeps moving, and the posts keep coming without you opening the app.

Quiet weeks stay covered

One of the subtler reasons feeds go silent is that not every week has a shippable feature. Autopilot handles this too—during a quiet week with no new commits, it finds an earlier change worth talking about and posts that instead. The cadence doesn't break just because you spent the week on refactors. That's the difference between occasional bursts and genuinely continuous advertising for your product.

Step 3: Keep a hand on the wheel when you want one

Syncing GitHub and marketing doesn't mean giving up control. You can run the whole thing manually whenever a release deserves a closer look:

  1. Go to GitHub, select a repository and commits (up to 20 at once), and click Generate posts.
  2. Choose how many post variants you want (1–5) and how many images per post (1–8).
  3. Review the variants side by side—edit a caption by hand, click Rewrite to steer the AI, or click any image to regenerate it with a plain-English instruction.
  4. Pick your favourite and choose Publish now, Pick a date and time, or Add to queue.

Autopilot and manual review aren't separate systems. Posts from every source—Autopilot, manual review, or a one-off compose—land in the same queue and Timeline, so your sync stays organised no matter how a post was made.

Step 4: Set the schedule that keeps it flowing

A continuous pipeline needs somewhere to flow. Set your posting times once and every synced post slots into place:

  • Go to Settings → Posting schedule and set the times each account should post, for each day of the week. You can copy Monday's times to every day with one click.
  • Use the Timeline to see everything scheduled across Day, Week, or Month views, with a column per account.
  • Click any post before it publishes to edit the words or swap images, and watch live status on each platform: Scheduled, Publishing, Published, or Failed. Failed posts retry with one click.

MarketMee publishes to LinkedIn company pages, X, Facebook, and Instagram, with TikTok, YouTube, Threads and Pinterest being added.

Keeping it genuinely hands-off

A few things make the sync sustainable rather than noisy:

  • Autopilot runs are free—you only pay tokens for the content they generate, so the sync itself never costs you anything.
  • Commit analysis, post writing, captions and scheduling all run at no token cost, which keeps the plumbing between GitHub and your feed cheap.
  • Standing instructions keep the voice consistent across every automated post, so synced content still sounds like you.

Once it's wired up, your two timelines finally run as one. Ship the code, and the announcement is already moving. Start connecting your repositories at marketmee.app.
