Building a posting schedule that works for your time zone

Set up per-account posting times in your local time zone so MarketMee publishes when your audience is actually awake—without the daily guesswork.

You shipped the feature at 2 a.m., which is exactly when nobody is scrolling. The gap between when developers build and when audiences read is one of the quiet reasons good work goes unnoticed. The fix isn't discipline—it's a schedule you set once that keeps firing in the right window, in the right time zone, forever.

MarketMee handles this with a weekly Posting schedule you configure per account. Once it's in place, every post you queue lands in the next open slot automatically, at a time you've already decided is good. Here's how to build a schedule that respects your time zone and your audience's attention.

Why the time zone matters more than you think

MarketMee reads all your posting times in your local time zone. That's a deliberate choice: you set times the way you naturally think about your day—"8 a.m., lunchtime, early evening"—and MarketMee does the conversion work behind the scenes when it publishes.

The catch is that your local time and your audience's local time aren't always the same. A solo founder in one zone posting to a developer audience clustered in another needs to think in the reader's clock, then translate back to their own. Getting this right is the difference between a post that greets people over morning coffee and one that quietly scrolls past at midnight.

Step 1: Open the Posting schedule

Head to Settings in the sidebar and open the Posting schedule section. This is where the whole week lives, laid out so you can set the times each account should post on each day.

A few things to know before you start filling it in:

  • The schedule covers every day of the week, Sunday through Saturday.
  • Times are weekly and repeating—the same times fire every week, so you configure it once rather than re-entering slots each Monday.
  • Every connected account gets its own times, so you're never forced to post everywhere at the same moment.

If you haven't connected any social accounts yet, do that first under Accounts (click Connect [Platform] and approve the login screen). MarketMee publishes to LinkedIn company pages, X, Facebook, and Instagram today, with TikTok, YouTube, Threads, and Pinterest on the way.

Step 2: Pick times in your own local clock

Now fill in the times for each day. Because MarketMee uses your local time zone, you can enter times exactly as you'd say them out loud.

A simple, durable pattern for most developer audiences:

  • Morning slot — early in the workday, when people check feeds before standup.
  • Midday slot — around lunch, a natural scrolling break.
  • Early evening slot — after work, when longer reads get attention.

You don't need all three every day. Even one well-placed time per weekday beats a burst of posts on Monday and silence the rest of the week. The goal is a steady rhythm, and a steady rhythm is exactly what a repeating weekly schedule gives you.

Translating for an audience in another zone

If your readers are mostly in a different time zone, do the math once and bake it into the schedule. Decide the time they should see the post, convert it to your local time, and enter that converted time. Since the schedule repeats weekly, you only do this translation a single time—after that, MarketMee keeps hitting the right window automatically.

Step 3: Copy Monday to the whole week

Setting seven days of times by hand is tedious, and most people want the same cadence on every weekday anyway. MarketMee has a shortcut for this: configure Monday the way you want it, then use the one-click option to copy Monday's times to all days.

From there you can tweak the exceptions:

  • Trim the weekend if your developer audience goes quiet on Saturday and Sunday—remove those times so nothing publishes then.
  • Thin out a heavy day by deleting a slot or two where you don't want three posts stacking up.
  • Give each account its own personality by setting different times per account—X can run more frequently than a LinkedIn company page, for example.

This "copy, then prune" approach gets you a complete, sensible week in a minute or two instead of filling in dozens of fields.

Step 4: Let the queue do the rest

Once your schedule exists, you rarely touch it again. The schedule's whole job is to define open slots, and MarketMee fills those slots for you.

When you create a post in Compose—or when Autopilot or the review flow generates one—you can choose Add to queue. The post drops into the next open slot on your schedule, in your time zone, on the right account. Posts from every source—manual, Autopilot, and review—share the same queue and the same timeline, so your carefully built schedule governs all of them at once.

If you'd rather place a specific post at an exact moment, you can still pick Publish later and choose a date and time, or Publish now to send it out immediately. The weekly schedule is the default rhythm; the manual options are your overrides.

Step 5: Verify it on the Timeline

After your schedule is live, open Timeline in the sidebar to see it play out. The Timeline is where your plan becomes visible:

  • Switch between Day, Week, and Month views to check the cadence at different zoom levels.
  • Each account gets its own column, so you can confirm the right post is going to the right place at the right time.
  • Jump to Today or pick a date range to look ahead.

Click any scheduled post to open it, edit the words, or swap images before it publishes—posts stay editable right up until they go out. Each post also shows its live status on each account: Scheduled, Publishing, Published, or Failed. If something fails, you can retry it with one click, and MarketMee will flag any account that needs reconnecting.

A schedule you build once

The point of a posting schedule isn't to micromanage every send—it's to make one good decision about timing and then stop thinking about it. Set your weekly times in your local time zone, translate once for your audience if they're elsewhere, copy Monday across the week, and prune the exceptions. From then on, everything you queue lands in a slot you already trust.

That's the quiet advantage: your best work goes out when people are actually around to see it, without you watching the clock. Set it up today at marketmee.app and let the queue carry your week.
